Research Interests
The Bandeira Lab research focuses on the development of algorithms and systems for interpretation of proteomics and metabolomics mass spectrometry data from endogenous and digested peptides, discovery and localization of post-translational modifications, protein-protein interactions, sequencing of non-linear peptides with unknown amino acids and characterization of microbial, marine, reptile and plant natural products.
Major research areas and related software tools:
- Spectral networks: MetaSPS, AlignGF, Molecular Networks
- Spectral libraries: MassIVE-KB spectral library, MSPLIT spectral library search, MSPLIT-DIA library search for data independent acquisition
- Post-translational modifications: Specialize, MODa
- Global MS big data: ProteoSAFe, MassIVE, GNPS, MassIVE.quant
- Community knowledge bases: ProteinExplorer, BloodKB, CoronaMassKB
